5 Weeks and Waiting

Well, as of today it's been 5 weeks since our dossier was sent to Russia. We're so anxious to hear anything regarding travel dates. We are really hoping to travel at least once this summer as it would be so much easier on us and for the kids...but summer is quickly fading and the whole month of June is almost behind us! When we do travel, we're told our first trip will only be 4-7 days. My parents have agreed to keep the kids while we're gone. If it's during the school year, mom and dad volunteered to come stay at our house and keep them in order to make it easier on everybody!

In the meantime, my sweet mom has been helping with the redecorating process! Hadley is changing rooms and will now occupy the former guest room. Although it's smaller than her original bedroom, it's closer to our room and she'll have her own bathroom so she's really excited. She chose a paint color called green gecko and so Mom and I (mostly mom) painted it last week. If you've ever seen a granny smith apple, then you can imagine what green gecko looks like. For those of you who ever come to visit Hadley, wear your sunglasses - you'll need them inside her room! The crown moulding should be complete by today and we'll get her furniture moved in hopefully tomorrow.

Once her old room is cleared out, we'll start redecorating it for Seth. He's chosen a lovely CAMO theme to go along with his all-camo, all-the-time mentality! I have to give him credit - when he finds something he loves, he sticks with it! Even though I hate wallpaper, I think this will be the best option for his room and I'm trying to convince him that less is more in the camo department and that we should only cover one wall! My multi-talented mom wallpapers too so she'll be helping with this project as well!

When Seth's new room is finished, we'll redo his former room for "Baby Russ." I'm not sure that Seth or Hadley realize it, but Baby Russ will now have the biggest bedroom with the best view! I'm so excited for him and I think he'll love it. We're thinking about a cowboy theme since we already have a complete rustic cedar bedroom suite!

So...that's what we've been up to lately. How's your summer so far?
